Continue praying!

At 6:30 a.m. tomorrow morning, Mother will be at the hospital with my dad for her surgery. Please pray for the doctors as they work on Mother, and please pray for us all to have peace about this.
Prayer is sooo powerful! Our God is mighty! Nothing is impossible with Him!
Thank you so much!!!

Awaiting Christ...

Just some of my thoughts:
For the past couple days I've been awaiting a letter from one of my friends. When I didn't find it in the mail today I felt so disappointed; I was wondering if it would ever come. (I love getting letters from my friends!)
I've been thinking 2 things about this.
1. When I wait so anxiously for letters from my friends, why don't I wait, ready for Jesus to come back to earth?  (Which is so much more important!)
2. I've realized I don't read my Bible very often, and I have the most precious letter in the world, from the King, sitting right on my nightstand, and I don't read it very often. Why do I want to read my friend's letters so much more than my Bible?
The Bible is such a precious book! More than precious. It is from our Heavenly Father, our King of Kings!

So much happened to me yesterday, Resurrection Sunday... God is so mighty, so powerful, soooo incredible! I love my Savior so dearly, and I'm determined to draw closer to Him.  I keep thinking about that hill of Golgotha, over 2,000 years ago. What Christ did for us. For me!
He was beaten with whips, He had a crown of thorns smashed into His head, He was thrown across a cross, He was pierced with nails in His hands and feet, He was stabbed in His side with a spear, HE SUFFERED, not only suffered, but was KILLED FOR OUR SINS!!! He was killed because God loves us so much, He sent His son to die, for our sins.
I just can't get over it.
Anyway, these are my thoughts, and I thought I should share them.
Please, anyone who hasn't accepted Christ as their Savior, please accept Him now. Everyone needs Him!

Praying for each one of you! Love to all, Emily

Signs of SPRING!!!!!

Some pictures of my graduating siblings!

My sister, Beth, and brother, Jason, are graduating together this year. We've been taking A LOT of pictures of them. Here are a few...

News on my mother...

Hi Everyone!
In a post farther down in my blog I wrote that my mother has breast cancer. A date is scheduled for her surgery; April 28th, early in the morning. Please pray for the doctors, for Mother, and for all of us as we take care of Mother after the surgery, and try to keep everything in order without Mother's help...
We really appreciate the prayers! Thank you!

Isaiah 41:10

Fear thou not; for I am with thee: be not dismayed; for I am thy God: I will strengthen thee; yea, I will help thee; yea, I will uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness.
Isaiah 41:10

Out-of-tune prettiness!

This is a video of my brother playing his newly bought piano (in September) that hadn't been tuned in 20 years!! But I think it's still really beautiful music, even if the piano is out of tune. Enjoy!

Beautiful piano playing!!!

This piano playing is absolutely beautiful! We really enjoyed listening to Bro. Yancey's music as he played for us on Friday evening.
I thought some of you might enjoy listening to it, so here it is!

Poem -Anonymous

What Christ is to us -- Anonymous

The Shield from every dart
The Balm for every smart
The Sharer of each load
The Companion on the road
The Door into the fold
The Anchor that will hold
The Shepherd of the sheep

The Guardian of my sleep
The Friend with whom I talk
The Way by which I walk
The Light to Show the Way
The Strength for every day
The Source of my delight
The Song to cheer my night
The Thought that fills my mind
The Best of all to find-
Is JESUS!
AMAZING LOVE  -- Mike Hall

How is it that the blind could see
That the lame could walk
That the deaf could hear
And the mute talk

How is it that the sea obeyed
And that the nets were filled
How could the prophets know
That The Son was destined to be killed

How is it that the wise men came
To praise the newborn King
How on earth were shepherds picked
To hear the angels sing

How is it that King David
Could write about the cross
Knowing that Messiah's sacrifice
Would signal Satan's loss

How is it that the leper
Could see his hands made clean
How could it have happened
And what could it mean

How could His chosen people
Turn upon The Son
And let a ruthless killer free
As they scourged the Holy One

How did the water turn to wine
And how was the stone rolled away
How could He speak so assuredly
Of how He'd rise that day

How is it that the veil was torn
And that a virgin bore a Son
How amazing that He'd die for us
So our victory could be won

How is it that Lazarus rose
And that He walked upon the sea
How could He forgive the tormentors
As He hung upon the tree

How is it that Bethlehem was chosen
That His birthplace was foretold
That John the Baptist spoke of Him
In words so sharp and bold

How is it that His disciples fled
On that fateful night
Only to die a martyr's death
Convinced that He was right

How is it that we go on living
As if His words weren't true
How amazing that He still awaits
Sinners like me and you

Rabbit comin' to visit

The past couple evenings, a little fur ball which is commonly called a rabbit or bunny, has been coming around, until I get as close as I can, take some pictures, and accidentally scare it off.
Sorry this picture is a bit fuzzy.
These pictures, plus the other pictures from another post below were all taken in our yard.

I can't wait until our lilacs are blooming! They are so beautiful in May!
