January 2021 - 3 trips and start of school!

Our year started out in Joplin, MO (we traveled there on New Year's Eve). We got to spend time with Grandpa and Grandma, Tim and Brenda's family, Jeffrey and Lesa, and the Scoles relatives one day.
Getting ready to open a few late Christmas presents.

On the first Saturday of 2021, we had a small Scoles family gathering.

Uncle Wesley and Aunt Lisa provided a lot of the yummy food!
It snowed while we were there! Yay! (kinda)

Charissa had wanted a matching hair-do that morning. :)
We had Sunday dinner with Tim and Brenda, then left for home soon after.
We got home late Sunday night, January 3rd.

MY NEXT TRIP: CO & WY
I flew to Colorado on January 5th, where my friends, the Bells, picked me up at the Denver airport. I stayed with them in Cheyenne, WY and had such a lovely time with them.
It was fun to get to know Brecken (2)!
And fun to get to know these kiddos again!
We did lots of coloring!
We went on a fun walk/bikeride to Lions Park

Thankful for Jenny and her friendship to me over the years! It was so special to get to spend time with them. She is like a sister to me.

Playing Checkers with Fletcher (6)
It snowed a little, enough for a sled ride in their backyard.
Fletcher and Georgiana trying to pull me! Ha!
One day I drove to CO to visit my friend, Mrs. Stratman. We had a lovely time catching up!
I so appreciate this lady! She was my unofficial ASL teacher and gave me a good start for what I'm studying now. <3

Then I went to visit my friends Sunshine and Tatiana, who live in my hometown. We had a very nice time together as well. It was so good to be with them.
On my way out of town I stopped by one of my favorite places in my old town, the Johnstown lake. It felt SO WEIRD being back in Johnstown for a little while.
Back at the Bells, it snowed more one day, so we went out to take pictures of the Bells.

Trying to find a good spot for pics... it was very cold.
Jenny took this one for me with the kids

Playing a game one evening together.
Sunday evening, the Bells took me back to Johnstown for me to spend my last night with our friends, the Browns. My time with the Browns went very quickly, but was so special. They are like family to us.

We played some pingpong after supper.
The Brown kids and me
The next morning, there was a pretty sunrise
that shone on the mountains so beautifully!
This is later in the morning. "My" Colorado mountains!!
Faith took me by the Drs. Brown's new office to show me around.
Then she took me to the airport. Thank you, Faith!
I had a good flight back home to KY.
The next morning, school at GBS started!
The first weekend back to school, we had Revival services.
Bro. Mark Cravens was the preacher for it.
And then, on February 16th, my Uncle Tim passed away suddenly, so Mother, Elizabeth, and I made a quick driving trip to Missouri for the funeral on the 23rd.
We are so heart-broken for my Aunt Marlene and the kids.
Several of the relatives that were there. Uncle Wes is purposely hiding behind Aunt Lisa. :P
Marlene with Grandpa and Grandma
It was a really good service. Uncle Tim was surrendered to the Lord and ready to meet his Savior!
The meal afterwards with cousins
We got to see Tim and Brenda's family again for a few hours.

We said goodbye to Grandpa and Grandma, then Grandma was watching us load up in the car. I love this picture I snapped of her.
So, those 3 trips were the majority of our January. The rest of it has mainly been about school.
For one Sunday dinner, we got to have old friends from CO, the Yanceys, and Danette over.

Time with the Harms on a sunshiny day!
This was before all my classes had started and I still had some free time. :D
After one of the revival services, these friends and I played a group game in the dorm lobby.
