August has been a very full month! Let me tell you about it.
To start out the month, Daddy and I went on a nice, humid walk one evening and watched some of the sunset.
We walked over this bridge to see down in the valley below.
I got to help a friend pack her moving truck one evening.
The first Sunday of the month, we had our Care-N-Connect friends over for dinner, Tom and Barb Szabo and Retha Elger.

August 6th - August 14th, I went on a missions trip with a group from PA, to Detroit, MI.
I love flying!
This is the whole group one evening when we got ice-cream.
We were helping Tonweya and Judy Sherman in their ministry. Right now they are trying to open a ministry coffee shop, so we worked there mainly. One thing we got to do was stain, cut, and furnish boards for walls.
The electricians got lights up while we were there and I got these neat picture. I thought of how Jesus said in Matthew 5:14, "Ye are the light of the world. A city that is set on an hill cannot be hid."
The Shermans are trying to be a light for God in a dark place. It was a privilege to get to help with what God is doing there in Detroit.
One day we did work all outside the coffee shop; taking out bushes, planting greenery, digging, cutting, trimming, and then the guys finished with putting in an area of cement.
It looked very nice after we got done that day!

I took a lot of pictures, but not very good ones because of not having my camera with me. It was a good trip and I'm so thankful God gave me the opportunity to go and serve there!
One evening back at home, I found this turtle in our backyard.
As soon as I got back from Detroit, college started at God's Bible School and College. One of the first orientation days for the freshmen class was a picnic at Smale park on the Ohio riverfront. That included a photo-scavenger-hunt. I was on a team with 5 other girls. We didn't win, but we did have fun and got lots of exercise.

The evening of the 18th, our dear friends from PA that we haven't really seen for years, came for a short visit on their way back home. We had a wonderful supper and evening catching up with them.

On the 19th, scholarships were given at God's Bible School and College. Elizabeth and I both received scholarships. We are so thankful for how God is providing for us!!
For dinner that day we had Danette and old friends from Colorado who were traveling through, Crystal and Carrie Lucas.
It was so nice to get to see the Lucas girls again!
We took them to Smale park on the riverfront and walked around in the afternoon.
It was fun to swing with Crystal and Carrie!

August 24th was Mother's birthday! We celebrated her all week long. This picture was taken at breakfast before we left for GBSC and Daddy left for work.

On the 25th, Jason, Karen, and our friend Mikah Litchfield came for supper to celebrate Mother, Karen, and Jason's birthdays together. We had a nice evening of visiting!

On the 26th, we had GBSC friends over for Sunday dinner - Danette, Anna, Zach and Rebekah Barkman, Cearse Rice, and Luke Hughes.

I'm so glad my sister told me to take this picture. I wasn't going to, cause it seemed like too much trouble at the time, but after I saw it later, I was really thankful.
This is out of order, but while I was gone to Detroit, a friend from our church, Charlie Stamper, got married to her sweetheart, Bowen Buzard. Daddy and Mother got to attend the wedding.
