August 2017

Our August was crazy busy with lots of things happening!
So here's a bunch of pictures about it:
One Sunday after church, we had planned a picnic with the Harms, but it rained so we had to eat in the Fellowship Hall.

After that, we went on a drive with Daddy showing us different scenes and places he sees often for work. Kentucky: creeks and trees
 Some beautiful bushes
We found this quaint lily pond, and stopped for a closer look.
 Such beautiful, big flowers!

The hard looking things are the seed pods after the petals have fallen off of the lily flowers.

 Me beside the pond.
A few evenings during the 2nd week of August, we were able to go to Comargo Camp. There were some pretty scenes on the way there.
Our friends, the Dickinson family, sang for the first few days of camp until the other singers had arrived. They are such a precious family that loves the Lord!
I went to camp on my day off work, as well. I got to eat one meal there...
and participate in some of the youth activities.
 Some intense soccer going on.
Waiting for our turn. . .
August 21st was the first day of classes at God's Bible School and College! Elizabeth is a Junior this year, and I am just taking one class (Orchestra/band), while I continue to work at Chick-fil-A.
There was an introduction time on Wednesday night at GBSC, so that all the students could meet the faculty and new students.
I'm so glad that my new friend Lily is at GBSC this semester! We get to see each other pretty often.
That same evening, Elizabeth, I, and these other girls went to walk along the Ohio River.
What a fun group of girls!
One Sunday after church we had the Harvey's for dinner, along with friends from CO, Augie and Kathy Manzanares, who were passing through KY again.
The first weekend of school at GBSC was revival. This was on Sunday morning, the men praying together for the service.
The assistant pastor at our church, Bro. Stroud, preached a very good sermon about idols in our lives, making sure in our hearts that there is nothing more important to us that God.
Bro. Rodney Loper, the new president at God's Bible School and College
Lily and I taking a walk on Sunday afternoon.
That same Sunday, we had the Stamper family over for Sunday dinner and enjoyed our time with them!
August 24th was Mother's birthday, but we were all working that day and didn't get any pictures of her, so here is one from last year to represent her birthday.
Also on Mother's birthday, was my nephew Mishael's 1st birthday! We got these pictures from my sister-n-love of him and his sibings.
Quil, Micah, Jonathan, Jewelyn, and Mishael in SD.
I've started babysitting the Harms triplets and their brother, 2 days a week for 6 weeks. We have a lot of fun and I'm learning a lot! :)  Coloring...
In this picture we had made a tall tower and were waiting for it to crash down.
Playing outside in the wagon train...

Going to the GBS library to read some books...

August 28th, we were blessed to be able to go to an adoption of a girl in our church. Kathy Manns and her family have had Jewels since she was 3 months old, and now they got to officially make her a part of their family.
A lot of our church family got to go and be there to support the Manns.
 The judge with the Manns.

 My friend Heidi and I
I got to hold little Karilee for a little. She and her mommy, Sherilyn are so sweet!!
On the 29th, I went to the Ladies' Bible Study at the Stroud's home. I got to take Lily with me, so she could be apart of it too. I so appreciate Sis. Regina and Sherilyn for doing this Bible Study, and for Sis. Loper being willing to teach it!
 We had a blessed time.
The 29th was also my brother, Jason's birthday! We got to see him for a little bit at GBSC, where they were having All School Picnic day (but it was raining, so we had to do everything at GBSC).
I've still been working at Chick-fil-A too, and trying to learn how to balance my time, and when to say yes or no to opportunities that arise. See ya'll next month for the September post!
