August was full of packing, my brother's wedding, "lasts", goodbyes, sadness, and happiness. We were kept very busy, and "packed" a lot into our last days in Colorado.

My brother Jeffrey's wedding to Lesa was August 6th, in Iowa! I did a whole post about the wedding before this post.
On August 10th, I went hiking in the mountains with my friend, Natalie. It was a beautiful day!
We had a really special time together, hiking and talking.
We saw this very interesting, intricate plant!
The next day I went to Natalie's surprise birthday party!

August 13th was the Johnstown wedding reception for Jeffrey and Lesa. Over 50 guests came and helped celebrate Jeffrey and Lesa's marriage. We had many goodbyes there, for us moving.

After church on Sunday the 14th, our friends, the Lucas family, had a picnic in a park with us.

During the summer, we so enjoyed hearing Jason play his piano again! His playing is always a blessing to us. This picture was taken the night before he left for college. He decided that he was willing to sell his piano because we can't move 2 pianos (my mother also has one), so the next week, the Lord provided a buyer for it!
On the 19th, Elizabeth, Jason, and I traveled to Kansas City, and spent the night at our cousins' home.
We had a delicious supper with them, then had a fun evening playing a couple games.
The next day, we went to our friend's wedding in Ottawa.
We were blessed to get to be at the wedding of Tonya Sickler and Bud Poe!

Right after the wedding was concluded, Elizabeth and Jason left to continue on their way to Ohio for college. I went with some people from the wedding, surprised my friend Hannah, and spent the rest of the day at Hannah's house, out in the country of Kansas.

I couldn't bring my violin on the short wedding trip, so Hannah and I had to come up with a different way to play violins together! :) This was harder than it looks.
The next day, 4 ladies from Colorado Springs, who also came out for the wedding, and I traveled back to CO Springs together. They dropped me off at our relatives' house, where Daddy and Mother had come to pick me up. We had a delightful supper and visiting time with Uncle Alvin and Katie before we left.
These two people are so precious and special to me! We had to say goodbye to them, because that was the last time we'll see them before moving away.
I remember Uncle Alvin and Katie waving goodbye to us from that fence, so many times throughout my life.
Mother turned 55 on the August 24th! She got a wonderful birthday present that day!!...
A new grandson!! Mishael Ryan Albertson! He is Randy and Joy's 5th child, little brother to James (9), Micah (7), Jonathan (4), and Jewelyn (2).
On the 25th, our friend Sunshine had a luncheon in her backyard for about 10 ladies. Here Mother and our friend MJ are waiting for others to get there.
It was a beautiful day for a outdoor picnic.
The challenge was for everyone to bring something that they made from their garden. It worked, but there were a lot of zucchini foods!

August 30th was my last sign language lesson day with Mrs. Stratman. It was very bittersweet to say goodbye after 2 years of signing with her!
Also on the 30th, I met Natalie for tea and talking. Hopefully there will be one more time of seeing her and saying goodbye.

August 31st, I went to the Denver Zoo with my friend Ivanna and some of her family. We had a fun day there, and saw a bunch of animals. The temperatures that day were perfect!

Our loading-the-moving-truck day is September 10th, only a week and a half away, and our moving date is the 14th, only 2 weeks away! Please continue to pray for us as we move and make this life change. God is our Refuge and Strength, our ever-present Help!
