February 2026 - Sunsets & Trip Home to KY

Hope y'all had a fabulous February! We enjoyed some beautiful spring temperatures in OK, with a few winter ones sprinkled in.
Currently I work at Chick-fil-A on Wednesday evenings and Saturdays. I always enjoy the fresh flowers there.
A walk after work one evening.
Monthly supper and games with these two sweet ladies, Dotti and Mary Ann!
I recently got a free canvas (just pay S&H) of this familiar photo of a scene in Johnstown, CO, where I grew up.
God has continued to paint many beautiful sunsets in the Oklahoma skies this month!
February 8, I flew home to KY for a week to be with my family and especially my mother, whose health is continuing to decline as she battles bone cancer.
Sunday afternoon, some sweet friends from church stopped by!
Sunday evening, visiting with dear friends after church.
I love my dear Mother so much!
Elizabeth and I matched a couple days I was there.
A big project Mother wanted my help with was to quilt her last quilt for her. Daddy and I put all the layers in the machine while Mother watched from her chair.

Mother wasn't able to do much of the quilting but she did do some personalized "writing" on a couple places.

Mother was so brave to trust me to quilt it for her and I was thankful for her coaching.

I was thankful for God's enabling help to me to get this quilted for her.

Mother was able to put the binding on; I was so thankful to not do that part!
All finished!

When I arrived in KY, there was still 10 inches of snow everywhere, but it finally warmed up, the snow melted, and we got to go on some walks.
Matching with my dear sister and mother!
Daddy surprised Mother with beautiful roses for Valentine's Day.
Our friend, Mikah, came to visit Mother one afternoon.
She brought her violin and we played a few songs together.
Valentine's Day <3 My parents have had 42 of them together!
Out for coffee/chai on Valentine's with my sweet friend, Brittany.
We browsed at TJMax for awhile while we sipped our drinks and visited.
The Stetlers stopped by for a visit on Valentine's Day.
So much love <3
While home, I made homemade bread. This is before the loaves went in the oven.
I always love being home over Sundays because I love my Burlington church and the people there so much!
Sunday evening, the youth pastor Eli brought the youth group over for a little service in our living room, since Mother hasn't been able to go to church for a month.
It was such a sweet time (an hour) of singing, testimonies, and prayer time.
I flew back to OK Feb 16.
My 2nd flight was delayed several times so I spent 5 hours at DFW airport. I snapped this pic of the sunset as the plane was arriving for me to board!
Back to OK sunsets!
A walk during my lunch break one day.
Sunday lunch with the Herring ladies!
The last week of February, I got to go on the first 2 bike-rides of the year!
February 27, after work I hurried over to a church in Carthage, MO, where my mother's cousin pastors. His wife Darla was speaking for the ladies' event, and I wanted to hear her and support her. It was so good to see her for a bit!
