May 2025

My sweet friend Mary Ann invited me over one day to enjoy her beautiful peonies!
Snow-cone season!
One Saturday these sweet friends visited me at Chick-fil-A and made my day!
Great coworkers!
May-snow! JK - it's just cotton.
Dear Marcia took me out for coffee one day during break to encourage me in the special-ed-field.
I got my roller-blades out for the first time in several years!
Lunch break with a couple coworkers.
We've had some beautiful weather and evenings, but we've also gotten 20 inches of rain in the last 2 months (which I hear is unusual for this area).
Happy Hands Fun Run went well this year! Such a fun day for the whole school, children, and their families! My sweet friend Lauren.
My sweet friend Kati and her boy.
My coworker Allison came to see me at the end of my CFA shift one Saturday.
Roses at my friend's in Ochelata.
Mother's Day with the Herring family!
I went with the Herrings up to Independence for their family dinner gathering.
It was so good to see the Arenders! We used to be together at GBS and my church in KY.
Driving home from KS that afternoon, I caught a glimpse of a rainbow! I kept watching it while driving carefully.
The part of the rainbow that I could see, switched to further up as I drove along!
Fainter but can see the top of the rainbow now...
Walking with my coworker Shyanna during break. She and I worked in the same classroom last year so we miss each other this year.
Bikeride time with Jentry! This evening we biked along the Riverside: 11.5 miles. Before picture:
Almost at the end:
We made it!
One evening I had my friends, the Stubbs, over for supper and the evening.
Supper, then ice-cream one evening after work with dear Cassidy! I'm so thankful God brought her to us for this year. I'm going to miss her so much when she goes back home to Grenada.
A beautiful sunrise at the airport! I went home to KY May 17-25 for vacation time.
My friend Brittany picked me up and we got to spend the afternoon together while my parents and sister were at weddings in different states that day.
After getting chai at our favorite coffee shop, and lunch, she showed me Findlay Market in Cincinnati.
Mother's Day photo a week late! <3
I took my violin on this trip and enjoyed playing at church with these other girls, both named Emily!
Picnic supper with my family at a beautiful park Monday evening.
My sister and I enjoyed a walk.
I got to visit my college friend, Jenny!
I got to meet up with my dear friend Felicia for coffee and catching up! It had been so long since seeing each other.
I was on campus of my alma mater a couple times that week for various reasons and enjoyed quick snatches of catching up with friends.
Mother's orchids
Mother quilting - one of her favorite things! This one is for her grandson in MO. I got to take it back with me and deliver it to him.
Wednesday night after church: ice-cream and catching up with the Harms fam! They are such a special family to me.
So glad it worked out to meet up briefly with my friend Kimberly and her sweet baby, and sister Mary!
My time at home was so busy, that we only had time for 1 game one evening.
We went to AWC in Salem OH for my friend's graduation from college. She is my sister-in-law's sister, so we got to see family too!
Elizabeth thought to bring games to play with the nieces and nephews.
Ready for graduation!
My niece Mandy
My s-i-l Joy, Jonathan and Jewelyn.
Joanna is basically another sister in our family and has been my best friend for 20 years!
So proud of her and thankful for God's help and success to her during college!
AWC campus is beautiful.
Headed back home to KY, we got to meet up for lunch with our dear pastor Stetlers, who were away in revival, so this was the only time I got to see them during my trip home.
Sunday dinner lunch with Jason and Karen. So good to see them for a bit.
Sunday evening food and fellowship after church.
Sweet friends, Ellie and Brittany <3
The little girls tried to sneak up on us to put a halo on Ellie, but of course we heard them coming so there was much laughter. Sweet girls.
May 26, I flew back to OK. It's always so good to visit my family and friends in KY, and hard to leave again. Once I get on the airplane though, I'm ready to get back to where God's planted me in Oklahoma.

Back at school, we had our "end of year" celebration: each class did a little something and got awards.

Out for picnic lunch during break with my friend Kati.
Coffee and coworkers headed in to work!
May 31, I made a quick trip to Joplin to deliver a quilt to my nephew, Felix that I had brought from Mother in KY.

I enjoyed playing with the kids and supper with my brother and his family!
Also stopped by sweet relatives' new home to see them for a few minutes!
What a sweet month of May! Praising the Lord for His many blessings and trusting Him for His help for June!
